New Year's Eve 2017

So what did I do on New Year's Eve 2017?

It was another rainy and windy day down in France.  The first part of my day's routine is to reset the fire.  We are low on dry logs at the moment and I am having to keep replenishing a pile in the garage to dry out.

Today's exercise was Sufferfest's "The Power Station" - less than one hour as my New Year's Day target is the two hour "It seemed like a good idea at the time" workout.  Later in the morning I officially joined Sufferfest and am busy downloading all the workouts to the laptop.

The Tour de Sufferlandria has been set for February 3rd to 11th 2018 - 9 Sufferfest workouts in 9 days.  I shall be signing up soon, once the route is set on January 3rd. Cool poster from last year's event

While the family girls work on a jigsaw puzzle for much of the afternoon, I read Bakewell's Existential Cafe and listened to the sport on the radio.

Our meal tonight is something special.

Starter of smoked salmon, prawns, sliced mango and creme fraiche.  Main is filet de bouef, with a mushroom, cream and whiskey sauce, sauteed potatoes and green beans.  Dessert is chocolate brownie.  Served with champagne and a bottle of Haut Medoc

We managed to stay up till midnight to toast the new year, but, as daughter pointed out, all our friends and family are one hour behind us, back in the UK.  No one decides to stay up till 1:00 our time though.

Happy New Year!
